We proudly announce our new BEHN Haptic Adjustable barrels—something which took 4 years to fully develop and the required investment of a full factory here in the US. Offered here are several types of adjustable barrels, made from BEHN rod rubber for optimum dimensional stability and impeccable resonance.  Available with our Patented +HAPTIC Feedback built into the center ring's motion. Every 1/4 turn, you'll feel a slight point of resistance and release, giving you blind access to the exact position of your barrel's length.
 
One features our center tuning ring made out of Stainless Steel (SS), an other features  our center tuning ring made out of Hard Rubber (HR), and an other features our center ring made out of Brass.  The HR version is extremely lightweight at only 26 grams (note that a standard fixed length barrel with metal rings is typically around 46 grams by comparison). This is noteworthy especially if you find the weight of the clarinet cumbersome and seek a lighter, more comfortable experience. But the sound isn't light at all—it is full, lively, and flexible. The SS version is heavier at 56 grams, offering significant sturdiness, tonal impact, and resonant power. The Brass version, about the same weight as SS offers a touch more tonal warmth and color.  We personally can't decide which one we prefer. If you want the power of the heavier version and don't care about the added weight, then that's the one we'd suggest. If, however, you desire a lower entry cost and lighter weight is very important to you, then go with the HR version. Just don't try the SS and Brass afterwards! 😉
 
As for function, each barrel is made to remain rigid, strong, and robust, and made with 5mm range of motion providing either 61-66mm or 63-68mm functionality. That should be sufficient for any need.  
 
The Patented and highly innovative BEHN Bore offers something truly wonderful:  AutoFocus.  Our bore design allows you to relax your embouchure more, yet you'll produce a more focused and resonant sound.  It's a double win!  With improved comfort your sound will improve as a postitive byproduct.  Just relax and let the BEHN barrel do the work of focusing your sound for you!
 
Wood Overlay adds $200.  This is a custom made barrel, so please email bradbehn@gmail.com to discuss what wood, length, and center ring (Brass, SS, or AL)  options you'd like.  Note, that we can custom shorten your barrel in this configuration - down to a minimal length of 58mm as you'd like.   And we can custom design the bore to your specifications as well.  If you'd like something special, unique, and stunningly beautiful, this is your best choice. 
 
Aluminum center ring, and Delrin body parts are available on request.  Just email bradbehn@gmail.com to discuss.  Aluminum is lighter weight than other metals, and offers a nice blend of flexibility, focus, and power.  AL is about 75% as powerful as SS and Brass, and 75% as flexible as HR.  We also offer AL in several color choices, including standard silver.  Delrin Body parts are very tough and offer dark timbre.
 
Moennig inspired bore dimensions are available as custom made option on any barrel purchase.  Purchase is required, but there is no added fee, just let us know if you'd like your bore to be Moennigized in the notes section in the ordering process.
